Recorded games #17

I'd like to start being able to record games once humans play them.

Rather than having the client browser taking screenshots, I'd rather have them just upload the game state and then render it myself.

Paperspace offer shared GPU VPSs starting at about $22/month: https://support.paperspace.com/hc/en-us/articles/236361368-What-types-of-virtual-machines-does-Paperspace-offer-. Their 512MB of video memory should be enough to record games. Any dedicated GPU setup is way above my pricerange.

It's also worth looking at raspberry pi cloud services. I'd rather not use my own pc as a server.

Preemptible Tesla GPUs on Google Cloud are about $80/month: https://cloud.google.com/compute/gpus-pricing#gpus. That's promising: I could knock that down a lot by only rendering videos every few hours, and so only running the server for short periods.

I dunno if I'll ever do this but it's interesting to examine!
