Via sudo apt-get install msmtp mailutils and a configured mail program at /etc/msmtprc which gets copied there from the local resource files and must be created by the user beforehand.

Commands that request mail can be called like: sbatch --mail-type=ALL --mail-user=yourname@example.com job.slurm
