Can this extension similarly be applied for other DOI registry services, such as CrossRef?

Hi @andrelanger - sorry for the slow reply, I completely missed this one! The extension currently only works with DataCite but adding Crossref would be excellent. We use DataCite for all our DOIs at the NHM so adding Crossref support isn't currently something that we'd have time to actively develop, but we'd welcome the contribution of course! If our time opens up in the future or we start to mint DOIs with Crossref then it'd definitely be a feature we'd look at developing ourselves though.
