unbound breaks friend joining

me and my friend tried to play rounds but everytime if theres unbound it just somehow disables friend joining like we couldnt join eachother no matter what we did

Getting this locally as well. We can pick our respective characters & controllers, but it won't let us both 'ready'

Setup includes steam link & two controllers.

Disabled all but UnboundLib (and any dependent mods), works fine, enabled just UnboundLib & its dependencies (MMHook, BepInExPack_ROUNDS), and it fails.
