AWS Toolkit YAML editing cababilities beyond Red Hat YAML in VS Code?

I'm really confused about the VS Code AWS Toolkit extension. The documentation seems to imply that I will get some sort of special editing capabilities for CloudFormation/SAM YAML files with the AWS Toolkit. But the Red Hat YAML plugin already provides (limited) schema support for CF and SAM YAML files. After installing AWS Toolkit, what additional capability should I see? I don't see anything different.
