When can we expect a 1.0?

I have a task to update from rusoto to this once this gets a stable release so I'm wondering if there is a master issue or a known list of things needed to get a 1.0

We can't currently give a set date for a 1.0 release. We're focusing on making the SDK ready for use in production environments and we'll make an announcement once we reach that goal.

Is there a known list of requirements for 1.0? Like does some manager have a plan for the 1.0 release?

Once we release 1.0, we're committing to long-term API stability without breaking changes. There are a few ecosystem and Rust language dependencies we would like to see stabilize prior to declaring the SDK 1.0. There are also some changes coming down the pipe in Smithy that will allow us to reduce the number of Option types for known required values. If we stabilize too soon, we won't get to benefit from those.

For now, our focus is on production readiness since we're not blocked on it and it will have greater customer benefit.

As you may know, rusoto was recently flagged as a security vulnerability (as unmaintained). However, the suggested replacement, aws-sdk-rust, still recommends strongly against its use in production. It would be very helpful to have additional information about the timeline for stability of aws-sdk-rust for planning purposes. Thanks for any additional information you can provide.
