How can I update top-level frontmatter property using application/json

Hi!

It's not clear to me how to change a top-level property in frontmatter. I've seen related comments like #143 (comment) or #142 (comment), but none of them address this exact scenario.

If I leave out the Target header, the JSON data is added via the undefined property.

As a more concrete example, how would I change a top-level boolean property?

@coddingtonbear are you sure this should be a discussion? Looks to me like it's either a bug or simply unsupported.
