Can ical.net send an Outlook invite?

Hi all;

It looks like ical.net sends an .ics file. Is there a way to have it send the Outlook type email? I ask because Outlook asks you if you're sure on an .ics file but not on an Outlook invite.

Outlook also uses the ics. But Outlooks encodes the iCalender as base64 like this

Content-Type: text/calendar; charset="utf-8"; method=REQUEST
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

You could include the iCalendar as UTF-8 text (or encode it as base64) and add it to an email like Outlook does. In this case, the iCalendar is embedded, instead of using an ics attachment.

I tried to read the raw imap from Exchange to see the raw email sent. But Outlook.com has that locked down (which sucks).

Is that all Outlook does, embed the ics instead of attaching it as a file to the email? If so, yes you're right - this becomes trivial to implement, with help from ical.net.

With Outlook 365 online you can right-click the message and download it as an EML, which is the raw email.
