Meeting notes:

• UDP forwarding is probably just broken in master branch. Not a regression in your work
• Image downloader has to be moved to the main binary so as to show the download progress
• Windows support is optional
• Submit ready-to-merge PRs before working on other stuff. The PR is expected to be merged by the end of June or the first week of July, before we submit a mid-term evaluation.
• Probably PRs should be split at the point before you added the gRPC proto.
• After merging the first batch of the PRs, move driver-specific codes from pkg/limayaml to drivers. This can be the most complicated part.
• Optional tasks after that: accelerate GuestAgentConn, implement additional drivers (krun, vbox, etc.) https://cloud-native.slack.com/archives/C08KKELMQ92/p1750329099601029

Next steps:

• Add the configuration items to Kconfig (config.mk ) Makefile. By default, the existing drivers should be built as built-in (at least for now)
• Benchmark the port forwarding. The built-in mode must not have any performance regression. The external mode may have a performance regression, but it still should not have a feature regression.
• Move the image downloader from the driver to the main binary [WIP]: Create a Plugin System for Lima #3573 (comment)
• [Optional] Support Windows
• Tidy up the commits and submit PRs (in reviewable size)

• Move driver-specifc codes from pkg/limayaml to drivers (Validate, FulfillDefault, ...)
  [Optional, but highly recommended] Accelerate ga.sock, possibly using https://github.com/edwarnicke/grpcfd or something similar

• [Optional] Work on the krun driver. Since this is a new driver, it should be probably built as an external driver by default. The repository does not need to be split, at least for now.

• [Optional] Work on any additional driver you like (vbox, vz but for macOS guests, some cloud driver, ...)
