Regarding our fork: should we open a PR or can we change our fork license to Apache 2?

Hi all, we are changing some internal guidelines on our open source repositories. We have a fork of this repo benhowes/pytest-socket@master...getsling:pytest-socket:master

Should we
A. open a PR into the source repository
B. can we change our forked license from MIT -> Apache 2?

Hi @alexanderbaumann-toast ! I'm sorry to hear that the license doesn't match your needs.

I'm not sure about the license legalities of applying your own license to a fork. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me that if you did apply a new license, you would still have to apply the existing license since that's what it's licensed as.

Can you elaborate why the MIT is unacceptable? It's considered more permissive than Apache 2.
