Hidden versions

We can hide tabs and documents today but it's not possible to hide versions from the drop down.

I can publish documents in a different version and not put that version in the version selector, but if I browse to one of the hidden pages (by changing the version in the URL) the side bar still links to the currently selected version.

Is it possible to have a hidden version so the sidebar updates with the current version of the documents I'm viewing?
