Validation

Hello,

I've seen various websites for validating iCAL. I can't see that there is a .Net library extending Ical.Net or a part of the library itself that is able to validate the output an object or the string output. I found some broken links here to something promising:

I'd like to include some validation in tests and ideally as a Cmdlet in a PWSH module I'm working on. Am I missing something that already exists?

Tool still exists it's just not had much maintenance.

It's 14 years old :) Actually, in our unit tests we do a lot of iCal validating. If you trust ical.net, feel free to use it for validation. It's not as trivial as it may sound, though. Unfortunately, many OSS projects lack good coverage of RFC 5545. I think, ical.net is (one of) the best.

OK thanks. I'll look at the unit testing to get some ideas.

I think I've made invalid output using Ical.Net just because I didn't know what I was doing at all. For example putting in a startdate and a duration, there are other combinations of if this then that etc. I'm getting there with it now, understanding the spec. etc.

Will Ical.Net throw exceptions if you put in invalid combinations or simply ignore invalid parts of the object when it is Serialized?

I forked that repo and it's building in .net7.0 now. I make a lot of PowerShell stuff so don't keep on the bleeding edge as people don't keep their hosts that up-to-date.
