Getting this to work with ddev locally

Hi, I am struggling to get pest testing working in our local ddev setup. I have tried to add a docker volume so that the /home/{DDEV_USER}/.cache folder is preserved on ddev restarts but it still asks for installation of the playwright OS dependencies after restarts. That makes sense since those are not part of the ddev web image but I can not find a way to add those dependencies. Instead I have to install them on each restart.

I also tried to use one of the ddev plugins for playwright but those all run in a separate docker container and pest is not able to use the playwright installations like that. Any help would be very appreciated :D

I figured it out, simply put this into your /.ddev/web-build/Dockerfile

# Install Playwright browser dependencies
RUN apt-get update

USER $username
RUN npm install -g playwright@latest && npx playwright install --with-deps

USER root
