Describe the bug
Regarding the closed issue #909, reviewing this again with Pulse v5.0.9, HDD temp values should be fixed, IMO, but isn't. Host agents are installed on all pyhsical PVE nodes and are up-to-date (v5.0.9)

Open tab Proxmox -> Stroage -> Physical Disks: Temps are unavailbale.

Expected behavior
Temps should be available according to the feedback in ticket #909.

• Installation Type: Docker

Temperature data for physical disks isn't provided by the Proxmox API directly. The temperature column requires one of these data sources:

1. NVMe drives: Detected automatically via lm-sensors if temperature monitoring is enabled in node settings
2. SATA/SAS HDDs: Require the pulse-agent (host agent) to be linked to the PVE node

You mentioned host agents are installed. For HDD temperatures to appear:

Proxmox Nodes → Advanced and ensure your agent is linked to each node
2. Verify smartctl is installed on your PVE nodes: which smartctl
3. Check the agent logs for SMART data collection: journalctl -u pulse-agent -n 50

Can you verify:

• Are your host agents showing as "linked" to the PVE nodes in Settings?
• What version of pulse-agent is running? (pulse-agent --version)
• Are the disks SATA HDDs or NVMe SSDs?

Nevertheless, I can confirm all prerequisits are available, the issue with missing temps still persists.

Interestingly, I'm getting alerts with disk temperatures😄 but they do not appear anywhere else.

OTH, why are the temperature units in % and not in Celsius or Fahrenheit as configured in global settings?

Question: Where are disk temp thresholds defined? Here as below?

As you may notice above, they are all off, why are alerts generated here?

Arrrgh, sorry for closing this ticket without a proper review of the fix.

The alerts and notifications are fixed now, however, the disk temps of physical disks are now reporting 0 degrees. Obviously this is wrong.

Reopening based on your last comment about temperatures showing 0°C.

The v5.0.10 fix (ca7ac99) addressed alert formatting, but if the Physical Disks view shows 0°C, the temperature data itself might not be reaching the frontend correctly.

Can you check if temperatures appear in the raw API response?

If this shows 0 or null for all disks, the issue is in how temperature data is being collected or transmitted from the host agent. If it shows correct values, the issue is in the frontend rendering.

Unfortunately, Pulse is running in a docker container. Curl is not avaialble there, shell is very limited anyway.

Nevertheless, as stated and checked in ticket #909, smartctl returns disk temperatures and since I do get temp alerts via email from origin Pulse, I think temp data is received properly.

Hence, as you already mentioned, this seems a UI issue solely?

Found and pushed a potential fix (a7aab51).

The Physical Disks view gets temperature data from host agents via mergeHostAgentSMARTIntoDisks(), which requires nodes to have their LinkedHostAgentID field populated. The linking happens automatically when a host agent's hostname matches a Proxmox node name.

The bug was that the disk temperature merge functions were receiving the node data before the linking step completed - they got the raw node list without LinkedHostAgentID set, so the SMART temperature matching always failed (returned empty).

The fix ensures the merge functions receive nodes from the state snapshot (which has linking already applied) rather than the unlinked local variable.

Would appreciate confirmation that disk temps now appear after updating to the next release.

The fix from a7aab51 should resolve the disk temperature display issue. The merge functions now correctly receive node data with host agent linking applied.

Please update and verify temperatures appear in the Physical Disks view.
