I've started to work on this in autumn 2021 (see LLewark/khoca#3). @alexchandler100, I've heard from @LLewark that you are interested in working on an integration of Khoca into Sage. If so, how do you plan it? If you like to continue on what I've done in 2021 that would be very welcome.

Is there a way to have Java code used in a Sage package? BTW, since Octobre 2021 KnotInfo uses this Software to replace the former results which have been obtained by KhoHo (see the ReleaseNote 2022.11.1 of the KnotInfo Python wrapper). The method khovanov_polynomial of the KnotInfo interface needs an adaption to this change (see the corresponding note there which is not present in the reference manual linked on the Sage web-site, even though included in the 10.0 release, so this is probable not up to date).

I've started to work on this in autumn 2021 (see LLewark/khoca#3).

I made some progress on this, in particular I've opened #40081 for the integration into Sage.
