Project Proposal - Integrate with the Data Transfer Project

Proposing that the panel undertakes a project to look at integration with the Data Transfer Project, per suggestion of @timbl.

It is not immediately apparent that this would merit any candidate proposals to the Solid Specification. However, there would seem to be considerable value in having comprehensive Solid integration with DTP. Some initial work has already been performed by DTP to support solid contacts with webid-tls authentication, but true integration would require a more concerted effort and a wider scope.

The nature of the integration is key to flesh out. I think we have the same concerns about having our core data models be unduly influenced, though I'm sure there's plenty we can extract / leverage. To me, integration would be more along the lines of ETL-like transformation utilities, rather than standardizing on models for the purposes of having them fit perfectly with DTP schemas.

That might be an interesting short-term goal though. We will need to write guidance anyway, as to how people, photos, etc. should be represented. Maybe we don't need to look too far beyond DTP.

First question that comes to mind is -- it would be great for somebody to do a quick overview of it, and just list what data types the project primarily deals with.

For example, we know that Contacts is one of the things that DTP exports. (Very relevant to Solid.)
What other data types?

• Email inbox ?
• Search history ?
• GPS location stream ?
• etc

To put it a different way - it would be great to know a) what data DTP provides/exports, and b) of those, which is immediately useful and relevant to Solid.
