Best practice for pull request

Hi,

I added DMA support for STM MCUs PWM outputs.

For that I had to add a generic API function as well as STM specific implementation.

I wonder now what to best practice is for creating the pull request(s).
Should I do one PR for the whole change, or one for the API update (including documentation) and a second one for the STM specific implementation?
