Hi, as some of you may have noticed, I have just finished archiving all my projects and moved the active ones over to Codeberg. The departure may seem sudden, but I have long been dissatisfied with the decisions by m$ in regards to what they do with GitHub. To say I disapprove most of them is an understatement and it goes along with my long anti m$ and pro FOSS stances which have always been at the root of my values as an individual computer enthusiast.
But this is different, as m$ increases the invasiveness of its AI technology and treats GitHub as a playground for training Copilot, I feel that after the last few announcements regarding the platform and its use of AI leave me no confidence that it is ethically and morally justifiable to keep using GitHub. For a while, this platform was a convenient way for me to do hobby development and I've grown attached to it and its community, but I just can't keep using it; I would be tormented by my conscience.
I've never done anything particularly popular here, so I transition to another platform with the reassurance that I'm not ruining anyone's setup. With that said, I plan to keep working with the 4mb Organisation, my last tether here, but otherwise, if you want to keep tabs on my projects, I invite you to consider following me over on Codeberg.
