Check before leaving for the lake

  • Make sure the batteries are fully charged
  • Boat LiPo battery
  • Transmitter batteries
  • Load the 'flight plan' to the APM before leaving. If it is loaded (and will not be changed) there is no need to take a laptop with you.

Pre-Launch

  • Turn off all switches on the boat Turn on the transmitter

  • Make sure the throttle stick is lowered

  • Make sure the Gear switch is in the down (0) position (so that the motors are not Armed)

  • Turn Aux 3 fully clockwise to the stop position (sets to Manual Mode)

  • Turn on the Computer and Motor switches (APM box)

  • Turn on the Power and Voltage (Battery box)

You should hear the ESCs beep as they initialize Wait till the APM led turns blue - indicating that GPS lock has been established The boat will be in manual mode, but the motors will be Disarmed

Check the Boat in Manual mode

  • Arm the motors by raising the Gear switch (position 1)
  • Test the motors by advancing the throttle (raising the left stick). All motors should increase in speed.
  • Test steering by moving the right stick to the left and right. The outer motors should increase and decrease in speed.
