AFAIK, this removes authentication from pulls and isn't necessary.

Authentication? Maybe git+https then. Because without it, opam 2.0
consider the repo to be a http repo and does not do git clone on it, and
fails.
Maybe I'm using too much a bleeding edge version of opam (git version).
