While I tried adding some unit tests, I found them somewhat brittle. I believe a behavior-driven development (BDD) approach using https://behave.readthedocs.io/ would be more suitable, as it operates at a higher abstraction level. An additional benefit is that these BDD tests could be repurposed for testing other Polis-like algorithms.
