At this point, this PR is mostly waiting for me getting to addressing the remaining TODOs and updating the description. I hope to get to that before or on the weekend! |

This is a draft that’s about 90 % done at this point (I hope). I’m mostly opening it to get early CI feedback, and plan on expanding this description once I get to it.
