As suggested by @haesleinhuepf I added double quotation marks to "area", "myColumn", "Count" and "select" in the for loops. I also added a semicolon after filelist = getFileList(directory) in "forfilesinafolder". Finally, I added "directory = getDirectory("Choose input directory");" in line 18 in order to make the whole block self sufficient. As suggested by @haesleinhuepf I made this pull request.
I added double quotation marks to "area", "myColumn", "Count" and "select" in the for loops.
