This PR does not add new whitespace, only remove some existing whitespace.
All of these removals are in dedicated commits so we know exactly what causes them.
We would not want to merge this as-is, because we still call spaceless on various inputs.
Instead, we would go with the other PR #717.
The reason we have this is to "prove" that all the remaining whitespace additions are coming from input data.
