AI Sous Chef 🍳

AI Sous Chef is a smart recipe generator build on Firebase Studio + Gemini CLI that helps you discover new dishes based on the ingredients you have on hand. Whether you provide a list of ingredients, snap a photo of them, or just want a random recipe, AI Sous Chef has you covered. Plus, it can even read the recipe out loud to you while you cook!

🚀 Getting Started

To get a local copy up and running, follow these simple steps.

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v18 or later)
• npm

Installation

1. Clone the repo

   git clone https://github.com/your_username/your_project_name.git

2. Navigate to the project directory

   cd your_project_name

3. Install NPM packages

   npm install

4. Set up your environment variables

   Create a .env.local file in the root of your project and add your Google AI API key:

   GOOGLE_GENAI_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
   

Running the Application

1. Start the development server

   npm run dev

2. Open your browser

   Navigate to http://localhost:9002 to see the application in action.
