Summary of Changes

Hello @sven-oly, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses an issue causing collation test failures by modifying how input strings are processed. Specifically, it removes an unnecessary unescaping step, ensuring that strings are correctly interpreted as raw UTF-8 for collation comparisons.

Highlights

  • String Processing Correction: Removed the .unescape() method calls when converting UTF-8 strings to UnicodeString objects in TestCollator. This change ensures that test input strings are treated as literal UTF-8 sequences, resolving collation test failures caused by incorrect unescaping.

Code Review

This pull request correctly removes the unnecessary .unescape() calls when creating UnicodeString objects from the input test strings s1 and s2. The strings obtained from the JSON object are already unescaped by the JSON parser, and applying a second unescaping step was corrupting strings that contained literal backslashes, leading to test failures. The change is correct and also includes the removal of a now-obsolete comment, improving code clarity. The fix is well-targeted and resolves the issue described.
